Este domingo los españoles, tanto si vivimos en España como si no, estamos llamados a votar en unas elecciones en las que parece que todo el pescado está vendido, y tras las que parece que hagamos lo que hagamos va a gobernar la señora Merkel.

Para aquellos que todavía creemos en la democracia, más allá de a quién votar está a quién elegir, que no es lo mismo. Y para saber elegir hay que estar informado. Os recomiendo elecciones.es para  haceros una idea de qué partido está más cerca de vuestras ideas. Tienen un programa informático bastante simple en el que se ve claramente dónde están los partidos con respecto a uno mismo. El problema es que las preguntas son bastante generales y las respuestas posibles sólo “sí” o “no”. Por eso estaría bien que entrárais también en una de sus páginas: Partidos, donde os explican en qué se basan para decir que tal o cual partido diría “sí” o “no” a sus preguntas. Así, a lo mejor no votamos como siempre, por el mal menor, sino por lo que nos gusta. Y a lo mejor no necesitamos a Merkel.

This Sunday Spaniards, both living in Spain and abroad, we are asked to vote in an election in which everything is cut and dried, and after which anyway we’ll be governed by Ms. Merkel.

For those of us who still believe in democracy, more important than whom to vote to, is whom to choose, which is not the same. And to know how to choose you have to be informed. I recommend you elecciones.es to get an idea of which party is closer to your ideas. They have a quite simple IT program where you can see clearly where the parties are regarding oneself. The problem is the questions are quite wide and possible answers are only “yes” or “no”. That’s why it would be great if you entered one of their other pages: Partidos, where they explain why they think these parties would say “yes” or “no” to their questions. This way maybe we won’t vote for the lesser good, as always, but for what we actually like. And maybe we won’t need Merkel.
